Can you reduce the declared customs value of my order for my international shipment so I pay less import taxes and fees?

Saving money on import fees by establishing a lower customs value on the invoice used for export to an international destination is commonly asked about.

The short answer is no.

It is illegal for us to declare a lower value than what you paid for your items on the customs invoice used to calculate your import taxes/fees/duties. With that said, we try to be as accurate as possible about what the shipment is by establishing the right harmonization codes on each item and marking the package for the correct type of transaction. Warranty and replacement items that are not being paid for are marked as such and typically require reduced or eliminated customs fees if you did not pay for the replacement.

Ultimately, your country's customs department is responsible for determining how the tax should be applied and how much. Edge Autosport does not play a role in establishing and collecting the import taxes and fees, other than providing the information about what the customs office should be basing the tax rate on.
